FC Leopards have begun a significant squad overhaul following their relegation from the MTN Super League, with striker Emmanuel Chabula, forward Emmanuel Okutu, defender Allan Kapila and midfielder George Simbayambaya among 14 players leaving the club.
The Kabwe-based side endured a difficult 2025/26 campaign, finishing second from bottom with 34 points from 34 matches and suffering relegation to the ZPL Men’s National League.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the club confirmed a series of departures as management prepares for life in the second tier and what is expected to be a rebuilding process ahead of the new season.
Kapila and Simbayambaya will return to parent club Red Arrows after the expiry of their loan agreements, while Chabula heads back to Nkwazi FC. Midfielder Muya Kaweme has also returned to Ama Soccer following the conclusion of his loan spell.
Several senior players have also left after their contracts expired. The list includes attackers Maximilian Elimbi, Vincent Bivakumana, Kunda Mazinga, Emmanuel Okutu, Kelvin Mavinga, Emmanuel Kunda and Obeddy Masumbuko.
Goalkeeper Eric Makungu and right-back Lewis Chola have also departed after the club opted to part ways with the duo.
The departures represent a major restructuring of the squad as FC Leopards seek to regroup following a disappointing season that ended with relegation from Zambia’s top flight.
In its statement, the club thanked the outgoing players for their service and contribution during their time at the club.
“Management extends its sincere gratitude to all the above-mentioned players for their dedication and contribution to the club. We wish them every success in their future endeavors,” the statement read.
With a substantial number of players now leaving the club, attention is expected to shift towards recruitment as the Correct Boys look to assemble a squad capable of challenging for an immediate return to the MTN Super League.
