Copperbelt giants Zesco Ndola Girls bounced back to winning ways on Sunday afternoon as they picked up their first 3 points in the 2020/21 FAZ Women’s Super League thanks to a 6-1 thrashing of Police Dove Queens away in Solwezi.
The player of the match was uncountably Avel Chitundu who scored a hattrick for Zegalicious while, game-changer Happy Pinto, Thandiwe Ndhlovu, and Fridah Kabwe contributed with a goal each to ensure the coach William Zulu drilled lasses have a short trip back to Ndola with a comfortable 6-1 scoreline which moves them up on the log standings to 7th position while Doves remain rock bottom with no points.
Meanwhile in Ndola, Indeni Roses and Red Arrows shared spoils with a 1-1 scoreline in an entertaining encounter played at the cage, Indeni Sports Complex.
The Air Ladies scored first through Copper Queens defender Mary Mulenga in the first half but in form Oilo Ladies Captain Onga Mukwasa equalized in the second half scoring from a free-kick to rescue a point for the home side who have so far been impressive.
This is the second draw in succession for Arrows while it’s the first time Roses have dropped points but they remain on second place with 7 points at par with Lusaka Dynamos Ladies but only separated on goal difference.
