Nkwazi Queens thrashed ZISD 5-0 to record their first win of the inaugural Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) Women’s National League while YASA Queens and Zesco United Ladies played out to a goalless draw.
Nkwazi Queens made a short trip to the Old Independence Stadium to face newcomers ZISD looking to win their first game of the season having suffered a 2-0 loss at the hands of Lusaka Dynamos Ladies last weekend at Edwin Imboela Stadium.
Precious Nsama netted a brace while Delicious Hamwiinga and Tukiya Mufishi chipped in with a goal each. Anita Mwalimu was unfortunate to put the ball in her own net as Nkwazi Queens celebrated an emphatic 5-0 win.
At Hospice ground, YASA Queens and Zesco United Ladies played out to a goalless draw in a highly contested encounter.
Ng’ambi Musole and Ing’utu Beauty Muchahabali put in great shifts between the sticks for Zesco and YASA respectively to make sure the two sides shared the spoils.
On Saturday, Green Buffaloes thumped Mufulira Wanderers Queens 5-0, Lusaka Dynamos beat Queens Academy 3-0 while Red Arrows Women’s football club played out to a 1-1 draw with Bauleni United Sports Academy (BUSA).
