FAZ Women’s League: Indeni humiliate Chambishi as YASA, BUSA, Green Eagles and Nkwazi Queens record wins

The 2019/20 FAZ Womens League Lusaka Province recorded quite interesting results around the city in Week 8.

Aside from the postponed match between Green Buffaloes and Red Arrows which was supposed to be a mouthwatering encounter, it was all roads leading to Kanyama were the enterprising Luyando Foundation was hosting National Assembly in a match dubbed game of the weekend.

The parliamentarians took an early lead through Grace ‘Coin’ Mulaisho and held on to the lead until half time.

Just when everyone thought the Parliamentarians will walk away with bragging rights, Ellesy Chilandula who is back in the team equalized for Luyando to make the tie 1-1 as both teams managed to settle for only a point each, a result which frustrated Assembly who felt they could have done better.

At Twikatane Grounds, YASA Queens are now log leaders as they leapfrogged Red Arrows who have 2 games in hand after they edged Cabana Stars 3-nil, thanks to the Mares midfielder Thanda Mokgabo’s Brace and Copper Queens U17 striker Florence Kasonde with the other goal.

BUSA Queens visited Mapani Queens who were coming from a 1-nil win over Lusaka Queens in their previous match.

Mapani were broken into pieces by the Coach Kaluba Kangwa tutored lasses with a 4-nil scoreline and found the back of the net through Young Copper Queens midfielder Maweta Gloria Chilenga with a brace while Margaret Chulu and Riba Musonda had a goal each to their name.

Kafue Cranes played host to Pataaki at Khosa Stadium and the Coach Zizwatchi Mseteka drilled side recorded a 2-nil victory with Tisilile Lungu and Margaret Chilekwa being on the scoresheet.

Green Eagles were too strong for Progress Sports Club as they recorded a 6-1 scoreline away from home, Sharon Nampemba shared a brace with recently Copper Queens’ call-up Amira Njobvu together Tryness Changwe and Sylvia Zulu while Progress scored the consolation goal through Ireen Lubinda.

At Chibolya Community Ground, Nkwazi edged Lusaka Queens 3-nil with goals courtesy of Anastasia Mwanza with a brace and Thandiwe Nkhata who has also been summoned for the Copper Queens camp was also on the scoresheet.

The weeping girls of the league Garden Youth suffered another defeat this time around at the hands of Football Chance. The final score was Football Chance 2-1 Garden Youth to wrap up the Lusaka Province Week 8 round of action.

Elsewhere on the Copperbelt FAZ Womens League Week 8, Defending Champions Indeni Roses broke a record as they whitewashed Chambishi 39-0 away from home. The Roses found the back of the net through Mwaka Mupeta who had 10 goals to her name. Sarah Moyo scored 8 while Esther Mushota and Naomi Chiwele had 6 each.
Grace Nanyinza was also on the scoresheet with 4 goals, Zamiwe Mukokomena and Lucky Chabu had a brace each and making it 39 was Rosemary Nyambe with a goal.

At Nkana Stadium, Miracle Rangers failed to perform a Miracle as Nkana Queens secured a maximum of 3 points with a2-nil scoring thanks to Dorothy Daka brace which was enough and important for the Coach Lucky and Sarah drilled lasses.

Evergreen failed to adapt to the strong medication from the Ministry of Health N.Stars as they lost 7-1 to the MOH sponsored side.

Meanwhile, Zesco Ndola Girls recorded a rare walk over away from home after they traveled to Luanahya to face Luanshya Municipal Council but the home team was nowhere to be seen and it is understood they don’t play their matches.
