The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) is set to take action against those who were involved in hooliganist behaviour during the Nchanga Rangers, Green Buffaloes game.
Out-going FAZ Secretary General Ponga Liwewe revealed that the Association was in the process of gathering details of the incidence and once they ascertain the facts action will be taken.
” It is something we have to stamp out ans be ruthless with. We are looking at the facts and once we ascertain the full details there will be serious consequences for those who were involved,” He said.
Liwewe has also warned clubs who are planning to engage in such behaviour to refrain as there will be serious consequences this season.
” We don’t want a situation were there will be potential loss of life due to such behaviour. Hooligans is something we have seen is still prevalent in our game but its something we need to eliminate totally. So from this season you will see serious measures for those involved,” He said
Nchanga Rangers fans started throwing objects on the pitch after the referee ruled two out Nchanga Rangers goals for offside. Diamond Chikwekwe and the front screen of the Buffaloes bus were both hit with stones. It took the Zambia army to safely escort the Green Buffaloes bus out of Nchanga stadium.
