One of the referees involved in Kabwe Warriors’ goalless draw with FC MUZA has been suspended, The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has confirmed.
The unnamed match official has been suspended following the incident that saw Kabwe Warriors denied a clear goal over the weekend.
Godfrey Binga’s later goal was incorrectly disallowed causing an uproar on social media among Zambian football stakeholders and the like.
Second assistant Israel Chikumbi was the one who misjudged the former Lusaka Dynamos forward to have been offside.
The Zambia Super League has been engulfed by poor officiating and claims of match fixing in the recent past.
The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has since formed a Referees Commission composed of experienced match officials to assess and deliberate over the issues of officiating in the country.
