Congolese-based goalkeeper Agnes Fabiola Banda has gifted Chikonaty AcademyF.C upcoming goalie Mirriam Chibuye a full goalkeeper kit as a way of appreciating her efforts in the ongoing League season.
Chibuye has been influential for the FAZ Women’s League Lusaka Provincial Division One current log leaders, Chikonaty who are unbeaten in the 2023/24 season so far.
Agness who is popularly known as Fabiola is currently in Zambia for a holiday after her exceptional exploits for TP Mazembe Women’s Football Club from the time she joined the team.
Banda joined TP Mazembe earlier this year with the help of her agents Win Sports Agency from FAZ Women’s Super Division side National Assembly Football CLUB after an impressive shift with The Parliamentarians and also winning the 2022 COSAFA Women’s Championship with the Copper Queens that was held in South Africa.
Banda established herself as one of the dependable goalkeepers for TP Mazembe and helped the team to win the Haut-Katanga Football Agreement, Haut-Katanga Provincial Championship and Coup De Congo.
She also made her maiden appearance at the TotalEnergies CAF | UNIFFAC Qualifiers held in Equatorial Guinea.
Banda is also a University of Zambia (UNZA) graduate with a degree in Demographic Development Program who played for the University School Team and won a number of accolades while at the same time she was busy featuring for National Assembly were she spent 8 years playing for the Parliamentarians in the FAZ organized Women’s League before moving to TP Mazembe earlier this year.
On the other hand, Mirriam, the young goalkeeper from Chikonaty will be motivated by this gesture from The Great Fab as it will surely have an impact in her football career for the Bola Na Lesa Girls.
Mirriam has kept a good number of clean sheets in the league so far and she is definitely one for the future prospects for the Women’s National Team set up.
Meanwhile, Chikonaty proprietor Nathaniel W Chrinaty expressed his gratitude to the TP Mazembe goalkeeper and he was elated when receiving the goal keeper’s kit which include a full set of top and down, stockens and two pair of gloves.
Mr. Nathan went on to mention that this gesture will motivate everyone at the club to keep working hard as the team continues to fight for promotion to the ZPL Women’s National League.
Chikonaty is currently topping the FAZ Women’s League Lusaka Province Division One log standings with 39 points and they remain the only team unbeaten so far with their last defeat dating way back in May which was a last game of last season against Lusaka Red Lions played away in Zingalume.
