Football House, 20 November 2015 – Lusaka
Football House is deeply disappointed with the outrageous, wild and false claims that the Treasurer Kelvin Mutafu has made regarding matters of the Football Association of Zambia and its operations.
The unfounded statement and the levels of ignorance or wilful falsification of information exhibited by Mr Mutafu to suit his personal agenda is deeply shocking, worrying and extremely frightening.
It is particularly sad considering that it is from a very senior member of the Executive Committee who has been serving at that board level for about six (6) years now.
In view of his statement, an emergency Executive Committee meeting will be convened at which Mr Mutafu will be asked to substantiate his claims and provide the ExCo with proof. FAZ takes governance matters seriously and any statements casting aspersions on the integrity and standing of Football House and the game and raising allegations of corruption are taken very seriously and will be dealt with fairly and firmly.
This ExCo meeting will be convened over the next 72hours and its outcome communicated immediately.
The Football Association of Zambia would like to assert as follows: Computerised ticketing is a matter FAZ has explored over the past years and months. After careful consideration of various options, Football House settled for Ticibox, which contrary to the false allegations peddled by Mr Mutafu, is running. The trials of computerised ticketing started with the semi-finals of the Barclays Cup, are in use for the final and will be gradually introduced for the Chipolopolo’s AFCON 2015 and FIFA World Cup Russia 2018 Qualifiers next year. This careful and gradual introduction of e-ticketing is in order to have a smooth transition from the present system to the new one without causing so much disruption and confusion among fans and other stakeholders.
Further, we would like to add and stress that all match tickets are subjected to a thorough audit in compliance with our external auditing requirements before tickets are assigned to the designated selling points.
The technical sponsorship with Nike was not lost. FAZ was the first in Africa with Nike European operations and the record of that success is there for all to use. It is a sponsorship that we stand very proud of because it consigned to the past the trend of buying Zambia uniforms off the shelf in sub-standard material which did not even have national identity. Today, Chipolopolo and all other Zambian teams are proudly green and orange with distinct national colours and emblems which the country is proud of. In contract renewal talks with Nike, FAZ demanded to have certain clauses and other adjustments like financial rewards be adjusted. Nike made an offer that we Football House felt fell far short of our expectations.
We keep our options open and will only sign a new contract “on our terms which will be dictated by us”. This could be with Nike again or other prospective sportswear firms that have made declarations of intent to take over sponsorship of our
Chipolopolo and other national teams befitting an African champion team, a continental giant and a squad that is ambitious to become a global force. The wild allegations by Mr Mutafu are far off-mark, a blatant lie that seriously injures FAZ reputation and threatens the good standing that we have with our other sponsors and partners.
On the sponsorship of the FAZ Super League and resources getting down to lower division teams, this matter is no stranger to FAZ members.
The Treasurer was again out of line as the distribution of such resources is clearly defined by sponsorship clauses and other detailed management processes. FAZ members are aware of the commercial undertakings for the Chipolopolo, Super League and how the structure of resource distribution will be done. This has been explained at various FAZ AGMs and is clearly not an issue. Sponsorship specific to a particular entity cannot be unilaterally disbursed.
It is therefore incumbent on Mr Mutafu to provide in detail his allegations of wrongdoing and corruption to the ExCo, public and any relevant organisation such information so that appropriate action may be taken. Failure to do so makes his position untenable.

careful faz weak dogs have entered your house
What do you mean? The current FAZ are corrupt? What FAZ weak dogs have entered? They are all corrupt.
The treasurer has been at FAZ for over 6 years,he said the truth and from within football house someone who was appointed recently has refuted the allegation. When the truth has been pinpointed…just change and issue a statement that will cover and the future be known to soccer loving Zambians..why hold a meeting? Maybe a fresh team can do something progressive….we r tired of corruption…be it on players, tickets, jerseys ,coaches etc. Are councillors following this?
It’s deja vu
matafu you have an error. you are fired and you will be banned.
Let the games begin
First it was Simataa
Then, the old Referees Assocation of Zambia of Wellington Chikuka
Next it was that Andrew Something from Kabwe Warriors
Now it is Matafu.
And let’s not forget that current Fifa fiasco pointed a finger at the faz president, among others.
That’s way too much smoke to suggest there is no fire somewhere.
“You can fool some people some times, but you can’t fool all the people all the time”.

CORRUPTION IS EVERYWHERE ON THE BLACK CONTINENT,,
EVEN IN FIFA..Hhahahhahaha..
This treasure must have said the truth. Why would he lie when he knows what has been happening, for he has been around for 6years at FAZ
Thats my point as well. There is just too much dirty going on in FAZ.
Here is an interesting story from Zambia Reports:
FAZ Cracks: Treasurer Mutafu Quits After Accusing Kalusha and Pivoty of Corruption
Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) treasurer Kelvin Mutafu has quit his post hours after a dossier on revelations that the soccer mother body is embroiled in untold corrupt activities which led to the cancellation of the Nike deal.
Mutafu, who did not name anyone but made inferences to what sources confirm are FAZ president Kalusha Bwalya and committee member Pivoty Simwanza’s involvement in corrupt deals, has also blamed the top officials for the financial losses Zambia is making off ticket sales for international matches.
The dossier which Mutafu posted on his Whats App Group two days ago hit the climax when the daily Times of Zambia published a banner headline narrating the details.
According to sources, Mutafu’s resignation has sent Football House into panic mode with FAZ president Kalusha Bwalya calling an emergency executive committee meeting within the next 72 hours.
Kalusha is not new to corruption allegations. He is named is a series of scandals that include international bribery scandals. The local Anti Corruption Commission has for the last one year been investigating Kalusha for alleged impropriety.
Mutafu also said in an interview with Muvi TV that he resigned because he could not work with corrupt tainted officials. The resignation comes 24 hours after Transparency International released a report that FAZ has failed to make financial reports publicly available.
Meanwhile, FAZ has issued a statement saying Kalusha Bwalya has welcomed the resignation of Mutafu.
The statement claims Mutafu was making wild allegations against the association. It’s not the first time officials have quit citing Kalusha’s mal-administration. Simwanza, Henschel Chitembeya, Violent Bwalya and Emmanuel Munaile also left FAZ citing corruption in 2009.
Dont say much, the vicious Kalu-Cadres will come after you!
imposible the tresure is the one who deals with the funds record en for 6years saving in faz meanin he has enuf evidence.at first he used t benefit a lot with the culprits…corruption en missusing of some funds.now it should be he has been sidelined he is not gettin what he used to get.ooh he has reviewed there is no way to say he has given a qrong statement.he has pipo who re criminals he knows en he is one of them.
If football is not profitable why has faz so many outstanding debts to settle yet themselves never resign for non payment of salaries. It seem there are many loopholes in its treasury and it will never be full of money .EVERYTIME THE BUCKET GOES INTO THE WELL ONE DAY THE BOTTOM WILL DROP OUT. I think the bottom has long dropped out.
No wonder these m0rons want to hold on to their position in FAZ. Once a new executive is ushered in, all hell will break loose, with Kalusha being the first one to be convicted.
Corruption,is like adultery; it is difficulty to prove since the partakers go away happy. But when one is short changed all hell breaks loose! Mutafu may have been party to all the sordid activities but decided to spill the beans! I don’t see anything wrong with that. Let’s turn him into a key witness. That will ensure that no one gets away with murder as far as Faz is concerned. The main focus should be Kalusha, let’s get rid of him if he happens to be guilty. Then we shall create an inclusive Faz where everyone wll feel to be part of the bigger picturem Away with Blatter cronies!!
FAZ come out and tell us wen a new kit sponsor will be enganged because there is no way we can start the group stages of afcon qualifiers without a kit sponsor…….so tell us wen a new kit sponsor will be enganged
Unless you involve the FBI to help with investigations. Then the whole truth shall come out. Otherwise these chaps have their trucks converted. S. Blatter thought the same until the Americasns got involved at FIFA.
kalusha will never go, he is big boss for FAZ, he owns FAZ, no matter what people say or do he will stay in power, he has lot of money in his pocket to bribe other people to be in power. only way he can go is through Zambian people, kick him out, before he eats more money
MR MUTAFU IS RIGHT, THERE IS TOO MUCH CORRUPTION IN FAZ
Tough Mutafu Exposing conmen.
It only take a day for a security man to catch a thief, Kalu has 99 days to his corrupt activities but a day will come.
Yabipa bola
3 December we get officials from an international investigative wing to probe Kalu. Reliably informed by immigration authorities at KK inter airport. Lywanya !!!
