FAZ paid K805, 000 to executive committee members as allowances for hosting CAF U20

The Football Association of Zambia, FAZ has come into the spotlight after expelled FAZ Vice President Richard Kazala revealed that the executive committee members shared K805, 000 as individual allowances when Zambia hosted the 2017 CAF U20 AFCON.

According to a document which has been obtained by the ZamFoot Crew, outgoing FAZ General Secretary Ponga Liwewe wrote to FNB, directing the bank to transfer money to the various accounts of the executive committee members.

“Kindly transfer Zambian Kwacha Eight hundred and five thousand from our account held with yourselves to the recipients as detailed in the attachment hereto,” ready the letter signed by Ponga which is dated 20th November 2017.

From the attachment FAZ President Andrew Kamanga is believed to have been paid around K128,110, more than double the amount Dr Joseph Mulenga got – K60, 650.

FAZ Vice President Rix Mweemba and Ponga got K103, 900 and K106, 100 respectively while Lombe Mbalashi got K99,650.

Copperbelt based duo Kabaso Kapambwe, Elijah Chileshe and Brenda Kunda got an equal amount of K80,650 while Lee Kawanu received K64,650.

Kazala made the revelations

Football House is expected to issue a statement.
