FAZ, Nora Häuptle relationship in turmoil

The Football Association of Zambia, FAZ and Copper Queens coach Nora Häuptle have differed over a number of things.

The ZamFoot Crew understands that Häuptle has differed with FAZ officials and their relationship has reached a boiling point.

The 40 year old opted out of the Cosafa Women’s Championship in South Africa following FAZ’s ‘failure to get a high profile friendly match’.

“She is disappointed that FAZ has gone mute on the proposed friendly matches in Dubai,” the ZamFoot Crew source said.

“Instead she was offered Cosafa route.

FAZ’s argument is that if the Copper Queens get to the latter stages then they willl face both Malawi and South Africa, two sides who have also qualified for WAFCON

Both the Scorchers and Bafana Bafana have named strong squads for the tournament

“But the challenge is Norah only wants her way.

While she still has over a 12 months remaining on her contract, Häuptle will only leave her job if she gets sacked.

  1. Nora is right, you cant keep on playing the same teams and expect to do better at wafcon. What is wrong with these football administrators we have in Zambia.

  2. Wishing we had not voted out Kamanga. He was gentleman and a true lover of women football.

This Mwemba guy is only good at making unfulfilled promises, he is not straight. He is busy frustrating this good coach to pave way for his fellow Tonga guy to take over women national football coaching role, not realising that he is slowing digging an open grave for women football. There will soon be no women football to talk about just as there is nothing to talk about for men’s football.

Mweemba and your clueless followers at FAZ, give coach Nora what she wants instead of plotting her downfall. You have already frustrated and kickout her musungu assistant coach and now you are after her, its shameful.

Stop being envious and stingy about the money she is getting, she deserves it. Besides the money is tax payers money from the govt and not from your forever broke FAZ. Us the tax payers are happy to see she is paid this $s salary because we love women football and want it to continue improving. If you want to be a top footballing nation you need to invest in top coaches, a perfect example is Ghana, they invest in good coaches reason their women football is ticking. Your fellow Tonga man you are banking on won’t take Zambia Women National Team anyway, its beyond him.

Mweemba and your friends at FAZ, be warned, you fail us in women football and you will be a one term FAZ president, we shall vote you out at next election, so you better start doing things right.

    • Though I do not agree that this might be a plan to pave way for a fellow tribes mate. Coach Halubono has done well in coaching women football, his record speaks for itself.

I agree with you that the mismanagement of the relationship between Norah and FAZ will negatively affect the growth of Zambian coaches. Most of them think they are capable of doing it. EXAMPLE is the failure of the U20 team with all the talent at their disposal in addition to home ground advantage only to be let down by arrogance and technical ineptness in coaching.

  3. Coach Norah has done well to stand her ground. That is the right thing to do, if we are to qualify for the World Cup and get to the level where we can compete good opposition is needed. COSAFA will not offer us that kind of practice.
That 5 – 0 bashing by (Nigeria 🇳🇬 🇳🇬 🇳🇬 🇳🇬 🇳🇬) a team we shall face in a few months time. Should have changed our planning. Looking at what is happening, it shall happen again.

FAZ must listen and support the coach. Fighting her by insisting to go for an easier route in preparation for the AFCON will not help the nation.

The competition at COSAFA is NOT even half the quality we shall face at WAFCON (Just look at our group).

Our players (Currently at the COSAFA) are only there for physical fitness. We need teams that will technically test our girls and equip them for the task ahead. WORLD CUP QUALIFICATIONS is the goal. We shall not make it by facing Malawi, Zimbabwe, South Africa and Botswana. Teams Nigeria can beat in their sleep!

LETS GET SERIOUS BA FAZ. No wonder we have failed to make it to the U20 World Cup. Mungulu planning and management.
