The World Football governing body, FIFA has fined the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) CHF 3,000 (K89,500 approximately ) for crowd trouble during last month’s 2026 World Cup qualifier against Morocco.
According to a media document dated 7th October, 2025 from FIFA and accessed by the ZamFoot Crew; Zambia has been fined for ‘Order and security at matches, Throwing of objects’ during last month’s 2-0 loss to the Atlas Lions. This is a breach of article 17.2.b and article 17.Ā

The fine comes barely hours before Zambia takes to the pitch for another World Cup qualifier away in Zanzibar against the Taifa Stars of Tanzania.
Zambia are currently occupying 4th place with 6 points to their name after 6 games while Morocco lead the group with 21 points and have already qualified to the global showpiece.
Tanzania are second with 10 points while Niger sit third with 9 points after playing 6 games.
Zambia plays the Taifa Stars this evening in a Group E FIFA World Cup qualifier in Zanzibar at the Amani Stadium. Kick off is set for 21h00 CAT.
