The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ ) has finalized new sponsorship deals with League sponsors MTN and Broadcasters Supersport.
FAZ President Andrew Kamanga confirmed the development in an interview with the ZamFoot Crew earlier in the week.
The Association is expected to announce the details of the two deals soon.
“Well we have finalized the new sponsorship deal with both MTN and SuperSport, so both are continuing so we will make the necessary announcements as we go before the start of the league, but both of them are continuing I think in the background we’ve been working with both Supersport and MTN,” he said.
“But they will continue with the support. They’ve been giving to the league. So we are signing new contracts expected to increase in this. Under these difficult times, It’s quite tight, We understand corporates are also cutting back on their sponsorships, but it will still be within a manageable range,” he added.
FAZ and telecommunication giant MTN in 2018 signed an improved three-year contract extension worth US$4.5 million United States dollars which saw the birth of Champions getting K500 000 and bottom-placed clubs walking away with K200, 000 from the K7, 000 that some received in the previous package signed in 2014 signaling a landmark improvement.
The deal for the broadcast of the MTN Super League was last renewed in 2015 for five years worth US$5million.
