The Football Association of Zambia has announced the finalists for the 2018 Barclays Cup with a shocking inclusion of Lusaka Dynamos.
According to the list circulated by head of competitions Julio Chiluba the teams that will compete in this years competition are Zanaco, Zesco United, Green Buffaloes, Nkana, Power Dynamos, Real Nakonde, Mufulira Wanderers, Young Buffaloes, Manchester United Zambia Academy FC and Lusaka Dynamos.
The statement by FAZ indicated stated that the participants in the only cup competition in Zambia are selected at the mid-season stroke in the 38 game league.
Lusaka Dynamos had a back-log of games at the midway point but once they had played their 19 allocated games of the season. they were not anywhere near the top six that qualified as they stood in 10th position with Green Eagles in 6th position.
The draw for the competition will be held on August 21, 2018 in Lusaka with the first games kicking off on 25th August.
The competition will kickoff with the four Division One clubs battling it out in a double header play-off at Nkoloma Stadium.
Zanaco beat Napsa Stars 2-1 at National Heroes Stadium in the final of the 2017 competition.
