FATHI’S JOB ON THE LINE as Eagles humiliate Napsa

Napsa Stars is set to sack their head coach Mohamed Fathi following Saturday’s humiliating 4-2 defeat to Green Eagles at Lusaka’s Sunset Stadium, the ZamFoot Crew understands.

The match build-up was all centered around the future of the Egyptian-born coach after reports emerged from the headquarters of the National Pension Scheme Authority (NAPSA) at Lusaka’s Levy Junction that the board had made up their mind with regards to placing him on administrative leave.

The ZamFoot Crew can exclusively reveal that the board had a meeting on Friday where it was resolved to give Fathy a match ultimatum to resurrect his future.

Saturday’s 4-2 defeat to Aggrey Chiyangi’s Green Eagles was a nail on the coffin.

A brace each from Anos Tembo and veteran striker ‘Gary’ Linekar Mwikisa handed Eagles a 4-2 win at Sunset Stadium. Bornwell Mwape also scored twice for Napsa.

The win sees the Eagles move to 43 points, 3 points off continental places while Napsa is still in the drop zone with 36 points.

Napsa has lost three of their last four matches. The pensioners have picked up defeats to Red Arrows [1-0], Nkana [4-1], and Eagles [4-2]. In between the Arrows and Nkana game, they defeated Indeni [4-3].

The match at Sunset Stadium ended with a few Napsa fans telling their players that they should be ready for a long ‘Journey to the North’ place like Kashikishi and Mpulungu in the Eden University National First Division.
