Relegated Kitwe United came from a goal down to beat Zanaco in the MTN Super League at Lusaka’s Sunset Stadium on Saturday.
Moses Phiri put the Bankers in the lead in the 29th minute with his 16th goal of the season and Chris Kaunda’s side looked like they were heading for victory.
Chingalika however came from the break like a house on fire leveling matters just four minutes into the second stanza thanks to a Rupert Musonda goal before winger Edward Lungu scored a beauty to put the Kitwe based outfit in the lead and seal a hard fought 2-1 win.
In Kitwe, Nkana continued their winning streak thanks to a narrow 2-1 win over Prison Leopards.
The defending champions needed a late Fred Tshimenga goal to edge a determined, Prison Leopards side at Nkana Stadium. Gilroy Chimwemwe opened the scores in the 27th minute while David Obash leveled matters in the 44th minute.
In an early kickoff at Sunset Stadium, Green Eagles humiliated Napsa Stars with an emphatic 4-2 victory.
Napsa Stars’ coach Mohamed Fathi’s future remains uncertain following Saturday’s 4-2 defeat to Green Eagles.
In form, Anos Tembo put the Choma-based side in front in the third minute but his goal was canceled out by Napsa Stars striker Bornwell Mwape who converted from the spot after Jimmy Mukeya was brought down in the box.
Mwape made it 2-1 before the break with a sumptuous freekick to give the pensioners a lead heading into the halftime break.
In the second half, the Eagles scored three goals to claim maximum points with Linekar Mwikisa and Tembo grabbing a brace each.
Napsa remains in the drop zone on 36 points while Eagles have rekindled their hopes making a third continental experience as they sit in 6th place with 43 points, four shies of the top four positions.
