Zambian forward Fashion Sakala has been named in Glasgow Rangers’ starting eleven that will be taking on Aberdeen at 17:00 CAT this afternoon in the Scottish Premiership.
The Chipolopolo forward returns to the squad after being surprisingly dropped for the narrow win over St Johnstone in midweek.
Following an excellent performance against Motherwell last weekend, Sakala was dropped to the bench with Scott Arfield lined up in the front three instead of him.
In the match with Motherwell, Sakala was a constant threat to the opposition.
He created three chances for his-team mates, completed one dribble and hit four shots at goal, one of which found the back of the net when he expertly swept home a cross from Kent to give Rangers a two-nil lead at the time.
Today’s starting berth without doubt demonstrates the faith shown in him by Rangers’ manager, Gio Van Bronckhorst for his recent strong performances.
Sakala has scored seven goals and provided one assist in 22 Scottish Premiership matches, 63% of which have been substitute appearances.
Defending Champions Glasgow Rangers are three points adrift of log leaders Celtic.
