Fashion Sakala has candidly admitted that he feels like a footballer again after receiving some love from Rangers boss Michael Beale.
The Zambian hardly featured during the opening stages of the season under Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
However, since the Dutchman’s departure and Beale’s arrival, the 25-year-old has netted on three occasions and has two assisted to his name.
His latest came in today’s 2-0 victory over Dundee United.
After a ball played down the channel and into the box, the attacker unleashed a thunderous shot on his left to give Rangers the lead at Tannadice.
He then played a big role in the second a short while later, which was finished off by Malik Tillman.
Sakala insists he’s loving playing games again and is growing more confident by the game.
He told Sky Sports: “I’m very happy. I hope I continue to work extra hard and to get game time.
“I appreciate the good work from the other players. They are helping me to get the confidence to stay in the team all the time.
“Obviously the more I play the more I can feel motivated and I’m getting confident.
“It was very difficult at the beginning of the season. Now, I’m feeling like a football player again and I’m very happy.
“He just told me when he came in that I know the task. I know why they signed me. He was on the technical staff under Steven Gerrard when I signed for Rangers.
“He told me to remember what we spoke about before I joined the club.
“You know what you can do and I trust you. I want you to get your confidence back.
“I knew from that moment that this was my time.”
