The 2025 edition of the Carling Black Label Samuel Zoom Ndlovu Charity Shield has officially been launched at a media event held at Broadway in Ndola, setting the stage for a thrilling football weekend at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on the 9th and 10th of August.
On Friday, 9th August, the action kicks off with a curtain-raiser 2024/2025 ZPL National League Champions Konkola Blades take on runners-up Kansanshi Dynamos.
The second match of the day will see ZPL Women National League North winners Konkola Blades Queens take on ZPL Women National League South winners National Assembly Women.
On Saturday, 10th August, it’s the women’s top-tier clash as Eden University Women’s Super League Champions ZESCO Ndola Girls face off with runners-up Green Buffaloes Women.
The big match of the day will be between 2024/2025 MTN Super League Champions Power Dynamos and 2025 ABSA Cup winners ZESCO United.
This year’s Charity Shield has grown even bigger with Carling Black Label putting in K2 million, including a sponsorship of K750,000 to the Zambian Premier League, team kits, prize money, and support for different community activities.
“We believe in inclusivity and equal opportunities for all, and we are excited to see women’s football flourish alongside men’s football,” said Tawanda Hojane, Zambia Breweries Corporate Affairs Director.
That’s why this year’s tournament also includes two women’s teams from the National League, giving more players a chance to shine.
“Proceeds from this tournament go towards supporting charitable causes and uplifting our communities ,whether it’s youth development, community health, or helping the next generation of football players. The Charity Shield is football with purpose,” he added.

The fans will again be allowed to select the starting XI for the big match, the Power Dynamos vs Zesco United match.
