Nakambala Leopards welcomed fellow relegation-threatened Mufulira Wanderers on Saturday in a Week 15 Super League fixture played at Nakambala Stadium in Mazabuka.
The ZamFoot Crew caught up with Sugar Boys Head Coach Albert Mpande after the match and he described the match as tough and we on to say that was exactly what he expected
“The game was tough and we expected it to turn out in such a way, great run by the players especially that from the first minute the boys kept ticking and pushing for a goal which gives me reasons to smile as we can now safely start winning games ahead of us, we have more ahead of us but we have to remain consistent as a team and replicate this form even in our next encounters,” Mphande said.
The former Nkwazi boss was also quick to applaud Mighty Mufulira Wanderers’ tactical awareness in the second half.
“Mighty was so tactical especially in the second half of the game but despite that my boys never panicked and dealt with the situation till the last minute and it paid off,” he said.
Commenting on Elias Maguri The Clubs top scorer, Mpande admitted missing his services. Tanzania forward missed the match due to injury.
“He is our top scorer and we miss him,” Mphande told the ZamFoot Crew.
Nakambala Leopards have now won back to back games under the reign of Albert Mpande. He is however not content yet as he feels players’ attitude needs to change.
“The attitude has to change as we have players who can play at the highest level.”
Nakambala Leopards were awarded a penalty in the dying minutes of the match after Alex Bulaya was fouled in the 18-yard box.
Goalkeeper Lameck Nyangu
stepped up and slotted the ball past his opposite number. The win pushes the Sugar Boys out of relegation into the 13th position with 14 points.
