Chipolopolo duo of midfield ace Klings Kangwa and winger Edward Chilufya have been drawn in Group H and F respectively in the 2022/2023 UEFA Europa League group stage.
This follows the draw for the 2022/23 UEFA Europa League group stage held on Friday afternoon in Istanbul, Türkey.
Klings Kangwa’s Crvena Zvezda (Red Star Belgrade) has been drawn in Group H alongside French Ligue 1 side Monaco, Ferencváros, and Trabzonspor.
Kangwa’s side dropped to the UEFA Europa League following their loss to Israeli side Maccabi Haifa in the play off round.
Chilufya’s FC Midtjylland have been drawn in group F alongside Italian side SS Lazio, Feyenoord and Austrian outfit SK Sturm Graz.
Lazio finished fifth in Italy’s Serie A last season. The Rome based side are managed by former Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri.
Dutch Feyenoord from Rotterdam finished 3rd in the Honors Division last season. The team also reached the Conference League final while SK Sturm Graz finished second in the Austrian Bundesliga last season.
Meanwhile Emmanuel Banda ‘s Djurgården IF takes on Gent, Molde and Shamrock Rovers in the upcoming group stage of the UEFA Europa conference League.
Djurgardens qualified to the group stage of the UEFA Europa conference League thanks to a 5-3 aggregate win over Apoel Nicosia.
The group stages of the UEFA Competitions will take place between 8th September and November 3rd.
The first placed team in the Europa League will directly qualify for the round of 16, while the second from the group will go to the playoffs with the third placed team from the group stage of the Champions League.
