The Ethiopia Football Association (EFA) General Secretary, Meskerem Goshime has confirmed that the Walia Ibex are scheduled to play Zambia international friendly.
The game is billed for Saturday at newly renovated Woodlands Stadium in Lusaka.
“Yes they they secured it. We will be playing a friendly with Zambia, ” she said.
Both Zambia and Ethiopia are using this friendly as a preparation for their African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier final round of qualifier matches against South Africa and Sudan respectively.
Zambia beat Swaziland 7-0 on aggregate to qualify to the final round in the Southern Zone while Ethiopia marched on after Djibouti’s withdraw of their second leg–in the Central East Zone of CHAN qualifiers.
Earlier this year, the EFA had secured a friendly match with Zambia, which was supposed to be played last month. However, FAZ decided not go ahead with it.
Ok we have heard manje, why is it that there is no updates on the junior chipolopolo? Am meant to believe the boys made the nation proud….

The first 4 on the Lists for me all deserve to migrate to the Senior Team as soon as possible. They all getting exposure in Europe. Emmanuel Banda is the only one so far playing for the Senior Team.
Edward Chilufya i have to mention also has has some African Champions League experience.
I actually found it difficult to choose only one player out of the 5 who deserves the call alone.
I would go for E.Banda, P.Daka, and E.Mwepu but F.Sakala also would be of use to our slow, and passive front line.

Well I think it’s a tight call to make, coz fundamentally the whole under 20‘s brilliance and success hinged on the combination of attributes of those players. Their zeal, goal minded mentality, team chemistry to tearing up opponents defenses at will. That said, senior team have a whole set of separate challenges that the younger players need to learn. For sure, all 5 players were outstanding and deserve a call up to the senior national team .Let them be tried and see what they can bring fourth on the table.

All the five be called to the senior team and allow the likes of Chisamba blend with them as in my own thinking, he is the only effective surviving member of 2012AFCON CHAMPS.Its high time we started the transition of these boys to senior team.
