Leicester City coach Steve Copper says they will need a new striker before the Premier League starts after Patson Daka suffered an injury yesterday against Lens.
Cooper said Daka will be assessed in the coming days and hopes his injury is not serious.
“Patson, we’ll have to see, obviously, he didn’t look good the way he came off and he is currently in a boot, but the next day or so will tell us the extent” Cooper said
With veteran striker Jamie Vardy also still injured, Cooper wants another striker to add depth to his squad.
“Vardy is still not with us and is not with the group training.
“So that’s gonna be a while as well. So you know, that doesn’t help because they’re sort of three more experienced players as, as well.
“But you know, I’m not one for crying about that. Pushing obviously to try and get sign-ins in and, and hopefully you know, that’s, that’s the case.”
Leicester will welcome the visit of Tottenham Hotspur at King Power Stadium this weekend in the opening match of the 2024/25 English Premier League
