Government says the Football Association of Zambia -FAZ- should employ a credible Coach to take charge of the national team following the resignation of Aljosa Asanovic.
Sports Minister Elvis Nkandu says FAZ is at liberty to employ either a local or an expatriate Coach to assume the role of head Coach.
He says the country is in the process of preparing for the AFCON qualifiers and that a Coach is needed to get the team ready.

Speaking to ZNBC Sports News Nkandu also empathized that it is time that FAZ leveled the playing field by paying both foreign and local coaches employed to Coach the National football team the same salary.
Yesterday FAZ announced that Chipolopolo head coach Aljosa Asanovic had resigned.

Former Chipolopolo Boys assistant coach Patrice Beaumulle is bookmakers favourites to land the job while George Lwandamina, Wedson Nyirenda and Honor Janza have all being linked.

This is nonsense. This minister needs to put his money where his mouth is. The entire Zed government and all they offer is $10,000 per month to assist in the hiring of a coach. The problem of coaches in Zambia stem from the inability to pay them. Bonetti had to be paid after the fact, Gred Mwila died having been owed money by Government/FAZ and in 2022 you expect to qualify for tournaments or even win a major trophy without any substantial investment…like seriously. This is a problem. I don’t even blame Kamanga alone, GRZ is part and parcel of the problem.
