End of the road; Klings Kangwa, Sabobo and Hapoel Be’er Sheva’s European adventure suffers premature end

Chipolopolo duo of midfielder Klings Kangwa and winger Joseph Sabobo Banda and their Hapoel Be’er Sheva teammates’ European adventure came to an end on Thursday evening.

This follows Be’er Sheva’s scoreless draw against Greek outfit AEK Athens at the Nagyerdei Stadium in Debrecen, Hungary.

The Camels were looking to overturn their first leg loss to progress to the next round but could not find the back of the net.

A goal in the second half decided the first leg match scored by Filipe Relvas in the 50th minute and was enough to send AEK Athens to the next round.

Kangwa put in an impressive full shift in both legs although it was not enough to help the Israeli Super Cup winners progress to the next round in Europe’s third best club competition.

Meanwhile Joseph Sabobo Banda was an unused substitute in both legs as he continues to wait for his debut for Be’er Sheva.

Be’er Sheva will now focus on the local league with their opening match being away to Maccabi Netanya on August 23rd.
