Zambian midfielder Emmanuel Banda may return to the pitch this afternoon as he has made the Djurgadens IF for this evening’s Swedish Allsvenskan league encounter against Falkenberg at the Falcon Alkoholfri Arena in Falkenberg.
Banda has been out for two months since suffering an injury during a UEFA Champions League qualifying round match against Ferencvaros away in Hungary.
Compatriot Edward Chilufya will miss the match together with PK Bråtveit who tested positive for covid-19, Jesper Nyholm, and Alexander Abrahamsson.
“We go with a 19-man squad and the players who are not available are PK Bråtveit, Jesper Nyholm, Edward Chilufya and Alexander Abrahamsson, says Djurgården’s naprapath Christian Andersson.”
Rainfall is expected in Falkenberg and Coach Kim Bergstrand is expecting a tough match given the weather conditions.
“It is of course very different to play in pouring rain down on Falcon compared to meeting Häcken on Bravida. But we will include that in the calculations and they usually have a good carpet down there, then we will see how it is with the precipitation. We will adapt to that as well,” he said.
The match in Falkenberg kicks off at 18:30 with Djurgadens IF aiming to close the gap between them and log leaders Malmö FF who are eight points away.
