Swedish-based Chipolopolo boys forward Edward ‘Tiger’ Chilufya put in an electric shift as his side, Djurgården edged BK Häcken 2 -1 to make it 3 league wins in a row for the hosts in yesterday’s encounter.
Chilufya worked hard off and, on the ball, with only a goal missing to cap-off a fine display.
He had a chance to open the scores in the 19th minute when he chased and lunged on to a long ball played from deep in Djurgården’s half only for the opposition keeper to sweep in.
Next it was BK Häcken’s turn to have a sight on goal. Walemark found space on the right flank after a quick break. He then cut inside past the defender and unleashed a powerful left-footed shot that went over.
Chilufya was at it again in the 38th minute when a corner clearance found the Zambian unmarked inside the penalty area. He showed good technique to chest the ball before powering a stinging right-footed shot that produced a strong save from the goalie.
The last piece of action before the break saw BK Häcken’s Johan Hammar’s goal bound header from well taken cross played in from the left side drugged wide by Widell in the host’s goal. 0-0 the game went into half-time.
Shortly after the break, Djurgården took the lead from an own goal. Chilufya was involved in the build-up. The former Mphande Youth man challenged an aerial ball inside the box that fell kindly for his teammate, Isak Witry whose go bound effort was turned in by BK Häcken’s Tobias Carlsson (1-0).
BK Häcken levelled the scores in the 57th minute when Isak Witry turned an attempted clearance into his own net with an opposition striker lurking behind him (1-1)
A minute later, Chilufya missed an opportunity to hand Djurgården the lead when his snap header from a long ball just outside the penalty area narrowly missed the right post with the goalie off his line.
The end to end action continued with BK Häcken only denied by Djurgården’s goalie who pushed a strike from the edge of the area for a corner kick.
That missed opportunity proved costly for BK Häcken as the hosts scored what would be the match winner in the 64th minute. The visitors failed to clear their lines from a set-piece before Jacob Une-Larsson drove a low strike past the goalie inside a congested penalty area (2-1).

Chilufya had two more chances to register a goal before being rested with five minutes left to play.
First, he skinned his marker on the left, before seeing his well struck effort pushed for a corner by the keeper in the 67th minute. Twelve minutes later, he sent a header from inside the penalty area just over.
Djurgården held on for a narrow 2-1 win following some resolute defending that saw a goal bound effort cleared off the line to deny the visitors an equalizer in added time.
Chilufya has scored 3 times, assisted twice in 13 league games.
Emmanuel Banda, who was named in the match day squad was an unused substitute.
Following the win, Djurgården are topping the league table with 30 points from 13 games played.
