Zambia national team winger Edward Chilufya is the centre of transfer rumors with Danish side, FC Midtjylland reportedly keen on signing him.
According to Ekstra Bladets the deal is almost done to take Chilufya from the Swedish League to the Danish Superliga.
Djurgåden IF previously wanted 5.5 million euros for the 2017 U-20 AFCON winner but Bladets believes the final amount this time around is expected to be less with Edward Chilufya’s contract moving towards its end.
Djurgåden sports director Bosse Andersson confirmed the interest to Fotbollskanalen.
“Yes, it is clear that there is interest in him and I can confirm that we have had a dialogue with Midtjylland, I can do that. Then if we are in ongoing negotiations, I will leave unsaid,” he said.
“It is clear that we value Chilufya highly. We have been in contact with several clubs and discussed it. There are many parameters to take into account when it comes to a transition and we are probably not quite there yet. We know that there is interest from a few different places and we have been in contact with a number of clubs but no ongoing negotiations right now.”
“Yes absolutely. Is it good for Djurgården, good for the player and good for Djurgården, then you will find an agreement. You do that.
Edward Chilufya finished the previous season in the Allsvenskan with eight goals and three assists in 29 matches helping Djurgården to finish third in the Swedish Allsvenskan.
The Mphande Youth product has netted 17 times and contributed 9 assists in 80 matches for Djurgådens IF.
The European transfer window will close on midnight of 31st January.
