FAZ patron, His Excellency the PRESIDENT of the Republic of Zambia, Mr Edgar Chagwa Lungu has urged the Zambia national team to win Sunday’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Kenya.
President Lungu, who spoke in Bemba as he addressed Chipolopolo squad at the Heroes Stadium, said football was the country’s leading sport stressing that in times when the team did not win, the nation suffered hypertension.
“I have been invited by the Kenya president to visit that country on the 11th, and I don’t want to arrive there knowing you have lost,” he said jokingly.
Talking to skipper Rainford Kalaba, President Lungu encouraged the influential Zambia captain to provide strong leadership and not to be scared to push his colleagues to attain victory for Zambia.
“Provide strong leadership like me,” Lungu told Kalaba.

The Chipolopolo play the Harambe Stars on Sunday 6 September at the Nyayo Stadium.

Many thanks for icimwela from our president, you guys mukaposeko amano mwikalenga ba president bakafilwe ukuya ku kenya becoz of your poor performance
Very short and concise motivational speech. Wishing them well. Our passion for the game is unceasing. I love to see people in authority pushing our boys for glory. Any way, where is my Chris? the best captain in Africa over the past decade. I wish Chris Katongo all the best wherever he is. His leadership qualities were unmatched. I wish we have more of such captains in Africa.
Thank you Mr. President for supporting the Chipolopolo. We are behind you guys all the way.
Long live ECL, 2016 is yours.
Good luck and God speed Chipolopolo!!
Just go and pick up a win. No excuses. Let HEECL also deal with the new coach salary and not the bus – it’s not important for now.
A bus?? I thought FAZ were given a new bus after AFCON2013, by SA. What has happened to that bus?? We were told by Erick Mwanza that the bus was to be in anytime, I therefore suppose that the bus is in
@ZAMFOOT any details about the donated bus

Good stuff, @Watch over. Question is why aren’t we using Kasarani stadium, but this high school, rocky ancient stadium, anyways we will come with a good result and bury Kenya.
