Eagles stay top, Kaseba nets brace on debut as LD, Arrows and Buildcon record wins

Green Eagles maintained their place at the top of the summit and opened a one-point lead while Napsa Stars humiliated Mighty Mufulira Wanderers to move back to second place.

The MTN/FAZ Super League entered week 18 on Saturday with eight out of nine matches taking place.

In Lusaka, the doubleheader involving Napsa Stars vs Mighty Mufulira Wanderers and Green Buffaloes hosting Nkana was moved from Edwin Imboela Stadium to Heroes Stadium after heavy rains left the pitch waterlogged and in no state to host a doubleheader.

The matches kick-off later than earlier scheduled and when the first match started it was debutant Tapson Kaseba who stole the show as he scored a brace and was involved in the other two goals as Napsa Stars eased passed Wanderers 4-0.

Kaseba has penned a one-year loan deal with Napsa Stars.

In the second match, Nkana scored a late strike-through Ghanian defender Richard Ocran to rescue a point as they drew 2-2 with Green Buffaloes. Nkana suffered an early blow with injury forcing Idriss Ilunga Mbombo out of the match in the early stages.

Nkana took the lead in the 10th minute through a Martin Dzillah penalty. Midfielder Leonard Mulenga equalized a minute into the second half with a deflected strike.

Friday Samu put the soldiers in the lead in the 67th minute before Ocran could level matters in the 90th minute, 2-2 the match ended.

Spencer Sautu scored the 63rd-minute freekick to end Kabwe Warriors four-match winning run and help Green Eagles to a 1-0 win opening a one-point lead.

In Ndola, Chanda Mushili scored a brace to help Buildcon to a 2-0 win over KYSA while Forest Rangers and Nkwazi played to a 2-2 draw with Lameck Silwaba scoring in his second game for Fole Malembe.

Power Dynamos were held to a goalless draw by Kansanshi Dynamos which means the Solwezi based outfit move out of the relegation zone temporarily as Zanaco drop-in ahead of their match this afternoon.

James Chamanga scored a brace as Red Arrows came from a goal down to beat Nakambala Leopards 2-1.

In-form Baba Basile who lost his brother early last week scored the only goal of the game as Lusaka Dynamos beat Lumwana Radiants 1-0 away in Kalumbila.
