Nkoloma Stadium will this afternoon come to light as Zambia U-20 Women’s National Team play host to South Africa U-20 in the 2020 Costa Rica/Panama FIFA U-20 World Cup Preliminary Round Qualifier the first leg slated for 15:00hrs.
With gaffers from both teams declaring their readiness for this game, it is expected to be a mouthwatering encounter considering the fact that it will be two teams with a great growth in terms of the Development in Womens Football meeting at Junior Level and everyone is hungry for a victory as bragging rights are at stake.
Despite not meeting at the 2019 COSAFA Girls Championships in South Africa, The Junior Copper Queens Coach Charles Haalubono said that he is confident they are ready and that there is no second option but to win in this encounter if they are to progress.
Yasa Queens goalkeeper Anna Mukumbuta is likely to start in goal for Zambia and providing cover in defense will be led by Indeni Roses defender Thelma Daka whereas Luyando Foundation Sensational Starlet and funs favorite Susan Evaline Katongo will command the Midfield with her skillful play and will make sure that her and company are on point while Green Buffaloes goal poacher who was the 2019 COSAFA Golden Ball Winner Maylan Mulenga will be relied upon for the much-needed goals upfront.
On the other hand, his South African Counterpart Jabulele Baloyi said that they did their homework studying how Zambia plays and are prepared for the game.
“According to our preparations, we believe that we have prepared accordingly to how we would like to play and how we would like to influence the game to get positive results back home,” Baloyi said.
Baloyi will count on the services of Sibulele Holweni who is the captain of the side to inspire her team to victory.
Holweni said the nerves are there but they are ready for the challenge.
“The nerves are always there but it’s up to you if you control them or not. You cannot be too nervous or you can just be excited. Having players that played in the COSAFA, it was a great tournament to see how they play and enjoy the game,” Holweni told the ZamFoot Crew.
The Junior Copper Queens and Batsetsana will lock horns with each other this afternoon at Nkoloma Stadium with Kick-Off at 15:00hrs.
Tickets for this match are already on sale via computicket in all Shoprite outlets across the country with Open Wing going at K10 whereas Grand Stand is at K50.
The winner over two legs between Zambia and South Africa will face either Botswana or Namibia who will be in action tomorrow Sunday 19th January 2020 in Windhoek for their first leg.
