Green Eagles came from two goals down to force a draw this afternoon at Indeni Sports Complex, The Cage in a rescheduled MTN/FAZ Super League week 7 encounter.
The hosts were looking to return to winning ways after back to losses while Eagles were hoping to put their disappointing CAF Confederation Cup home loss at the hands of Cotton Sport behind them and get a positive result.
Indeni started strong with Clement Mulenga, Lacks on Chewe, and Tiki Chiluba controlling play. Eleven minutes into the match the hosts were rewarded for their dominance as Tiki Chiluba headed in a corner to put the Dabid Chilufya coached side, 1-0 up. Chiluba struck against 13 minutes later with another header after meeting a well-timed Lawrence Mweenga cross,2-0.
Green Eagles were however given a lifeline at the death of the first half as they were awarded a penalty, Michael Mwenya stepped up and slotted home with ease.
Chiyangi made some changes in the second half bringing on Ronald Chibwe, Emmanuel Mukosha, and George ‘Boom’ Chaloba who brought in some much-needed energy and it was Chibwe who leveled matters 12 minutes to time after he was found inside the box with acres of space slotting home with ease.
Michael Mwenya rattled the crossbar with a free-kick and Indeni also did the same as the other end but none could find the winning goal hence they had to settle for a point apiece.
