Copper Queens midfielder Blessings Zulu says her debut call up is exciting after graduating from the Under-20 set up where she was captain.
In an interview with the FAZ Media, Zulu says she was happy that the technical bench had opened the door for possible entrants in the race for places in the WAFCON team.
The Zanaco Ladies midfielder is part of the Copper Queens provisional squad currently preparing for the WAFCON.
āPreparations are going well and everyone is pushing and working hard. We are working as a team,ā she says.
āFor me being my first time, I am excited about it. I have adapted so well. The senior players have welcomed us.ā
Zulu says the presence of many local players was a testament of how strong the local league had become.
āMost of us are playing in the same league. It is important because we have to know where we are going.ā
The Copper Queens have kicked off their local camp with 29 players currently being prepared for the WAFCON.
Zambia will shift base to Algeria on 13 July for an international camp that will see the team play two international friendlies with the host on 19 and 22 July.
