Chipolopolo striker Patson Daka is back in training with English side Leicester City ahead of the kick off of the 2024/2025 English Premier League season.
Daka is among the players who reported early for preseason in North Leicestershire as the Sky Bet Championship champions intensify preparations for the new season.
It is expected to be a make a break preseason for the Zambian international who will need to impress new coach Steve Cooper.
It was a disastrous end to the campaign for Patson Daka hence he needs a good pre-season.
Daka missed a number of big chances towards the end of the season and went on to fail to find the net in the final two-and-a-half months of the season.
Daka managed seven goals and five assists in 20 appearances for the Foxes last season.
New signing Caleb Okoli joined the training camp in Leicestershire to take the number to 25 players.
The initial 24 who were spotted in first-team training: Jakub Stolarczyk, Danny Ward, James Justin, Conor Coady, Harry Souttar, Ricardo Pereira, Ben Nelson, Harry Winks, Hamza Choudhury, Kasey McAteer, Stephy Mavididi, Wanya Marcal, Jamie Vardy, Patson Daka, Tom Cannon, Daniel Iversen, Luke Thomas, Boubakary Soumare, Brad Young, Sammy Braybrooke, Will Alves, Logan Briggs, Silko Thomas, Michael Golding.
The four City players who featured at the European Championship – Wout Faes, Mads Hermansen, Jannik Vestergaard, and Victor Kristiansen – are now on their summer breaks and will join the team later on.
City will start the 2024-25 Premier League season with a home fixture against Tottenham Hotspur on Monday, August 19.
The Foxes won promotion back to English football’s top flight at the first time of asking following relegation in 2022-23.
Leicester play against Liverpool at Anfield on Boxing Day and conclude their campaign away at Bournemouth on May 25.
