The Chipolopolo Boys have been strengthened by the arrival of a half-dozen players ahead of Zambia’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Pamoja qualifying campaign.
Hamburger SV striker Patson Daka, Hibernian midfielder Miguel Chaiwa and Swiss-based forward Kingston Mutandwa are among the latest arrivals in camp.
Midfielder Joseph Liteta, central defender Ricky Chanda and right-back Mathews Banda have also joined the squad in Tizi Ouzou.
The six players arrived on Sunday night as Zambia stepped up preparations for Friday’s Group I opener against Algeria.
Lameck Banda, Fashion Sakala, David Hamansenya and Obino Chisala were among the first contingent to arrive in Algeria on Sunday morning, while David Simukonda and Pascal Phiri had arrived on Saturday.
Albert Kangwanda joined the squad shortly after the first contingent.
The initial group touched down at Houari Boumediene International Airport at 07:25 before making the approximately 100-kilometre journey to Tizi Ouzou, where the team has set up camp.
The squad held its first training session on Sunday afternoon, with preparations now gathering pace ahead of the meeting with Algeria.
Zambia will face Algeria on Friday in their opening match of the AFCON 2027 qualifying campaign before hosting Togo in Ndola on 29 September.
