Patson Daka and four other foreign-based players joined their Chipolopolo teammates in training on Monday morning as Zambia intensified preparations for Friday’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Algeria.
Daka, Mathews Banda, Kingston Mutandwa, Ricky Chanda and Miguel Chaiwa all took part in the session at Tirsathone Stadium in the Azazga area of Tizi Ouzou.
The quintet had arrived in camp late on Sunday and was able to participate in the morning workout as interim coach George Lwandamina continued to fine-tune his squad ahead of the Group I encounter.
Their participation further strengthened Zambia’s preparations, with the technical bench now working with the bulk of the foreign-based contingent.
South Africa-based Gamphani Lungu and Italy-based Joseph Liteta remain the only foreign-based players yet to join the squad in Algeria.
The pair is expected to arrive between Monday and Tuesday as the Chipolopolo build towards Friday’s meeting with the Desert Foxes.
Zambia will then return home to face Togo on 29 September at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
