ZESCO Ndola Girls will start their TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League| COSAFA Qualifiers campaign today.
The Zambian Champions will kick off their campaign against Beauties of Namibia at 12h00.
Zegalicious will be making their debut at the competition after ending Green Buffaloes’ four year domestic dominance last season with their first league title.
Striker Penelope Mulubwa scored 35 goals in the league last season and is expected to lead the attack with Hazel Nali likely to get the nod between the sticks.
Elizabeth Mupeso and Avell Chitundu are likely to pull strings in the middle of the park for the William Zulu coached outfit with Marjory Mulenga protecting the back four.
However it’s winger Eneless Phiri who is expected to be a nightmare for the Namibian side and the best outlet for Zegalicious Girls. Phiri has the ability to dribble, has pace, and can score goals and set up goals.
During the Samuel ‘Zoom’ Ndhlovu Charity Shield she showed flashes of what she is able to do, Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club defenders had no answers for her.
