Croatia might be home to three Zambian players

A third Zambian player is expected to make a move to Croatia the ZamFoot Crew understands.

With Prince Mumba’s move already confirmed and Peter Chikola already in Croatia (attending trials) a third player will be heading to the Central/ Southeast European side.

This follows Club NK Istra 1961’s confirmation of acquiring Chipolopolo midfield ace Prince Mumba’s services.

Mumba has joined the Croatian top flight outfit on a season-long loan with an option to buy.

Former Zambia U-17 national team left-back cum winger Peter Chikola early this month traveled to Croatia for a one-month training attachment at Hrvatski nogometni Klub Gorica commonly referred to as HNK Gorica.

Chikola who in February attended trials at Austrian Bundesliga outfit, SK Sturm Graz has mostly impressed and could earn himself a move.

A third player is expected to travel soon with a deal almost complete and only a few minor details yet to be ironed out.

    • Hot shot Kangwanda should also be helped to horn his skills at a European club. He should not be spoiled with our local sub standard coaches. In any case the standards have plummeted to very low levels. A case in point is that our Zambian boys are failing g to make it at South African clubs. A few years ago the players we sent down south were a shade above the South African players! The likes of Kampamba, Mbesuma, Katongo brothers, Chamanga, Nyirenda, I Chansa, Musonda, Mweene, W Chansa, Watyakeni, Lota etc held their own, 4 of these were season top scorers, if not, others were midfield dynamoes and a few left for European teams! We should not hold a negative perception of the South African league whose coaches have tremendously improved, such that, our boys are finding it hard to march the levels obtaining. FAZ must take a critical look at our trainers! I strongly believe the local game will benefit with influence of European trainers. For example coaches like Butler, McGarry, Peter Wyeth etc, their influence improved football on the copperbelt. Don’t waist money on finished foreign players, money which could be enough to engage good foreign coaches. These coaches have lifted the game down south.
