Zambia thumped Lesotho 4-0 to continue their excellent form in this competition. Patrick Ngoma headed Zambia in front before Harrison Musonda grabbed a brace in the second half and Ngoma got his second late on.
Ngoma now three goals with also Patson Daka while Musonda and Kasachi are on two goals each.
Namibia were held to a 0-0 draw by South Africa but that proved enough to finish runners-up in the pool.
Zambia and Namibia finished in the top two places in Group B to advance to the semifinals.
There will be one match in Group A on Thursday as Angola look to keep their hopes of a semifinal place alive when they take on Swaziland at the Luveve Stadium (kick-off 15h30).
If Angola draw they will need Malawi to defeat Zimbabwe in their clash on Friday, while a win for Angola would be enough if Zimbabwe cannot find three points against the Malawians.
Malawi sealed their place in the semifinals with a 1-1 draw against Swaziland.
The point moves them to seven in their three games, a mark only Zimbabwe and Angola can match, but as Malawi defeated the Angolans 1-0 in the earlier pool games, they cannot be overhauled.
Wandile Dlamini put Swaziland ahead just before halftime, but after they had Melusi Nyaweni sent off for a second bookable offence, Malawi took advantage of their extra man and equalised through Yusuf Luwanda seven minutes from time.

Our boys are at their best. I am sure they will bring the cup to mourning Zambia.
Its like we are unstoppable at COSAFA level but us work hard for the AFCON trophy at youth tournament.
The grass is to suffer as Zimbabwe n Malawi lock horns to c who tops the other group. Both teams dread the prospect of the Junior Chipolopolo who are in a devastating form.
Well done boys. But that picture? Are those under 17? Ni gym work abaice?
This is good news: keep on working hard boys
talent in Zambia is there but u wonder were it goes to without being developed.
Kennedy mweene has won the man of match after having wonderful saves against pilates.
good news to u20 keep on workng guys.
Well deserved victory by the boys. Keep up the good work.
Just great! And the sheer number of goals Namibia must be proud of itself to go down with a 2 – 0 slaughter.
This team should win next years u-20 afcon torney in Senegal.
the qquestion my frend is, will this be the team that will in senegal looking at how faz disowned it becoz it has sum players that faz dont recognise.
Sometimes FAZ should just shut it… I commend the technical bench for staying put and ignored FAZ rhetoric. I don’t think they will have a say next time knowing that the U20 team has embarrassed them. Ironic enough it’s Kalusha’s tweet that told some of us the 4 – 0 win over the young crocodiles. It’s just sad we have an association that’s quite a bully but itself it’s far from perfect when it comes to managing logistics when teams travel.
I have said this before and i will say it again that this is one of the greatest under 20 teams that we have ever had in 50 years. The boys are so talented and skillful. I expect them to lift the trophy this year! They should have won it the other year but they became complacent in the final against South Africa!
Gud news from young
Chipolopolo
PLATINUM STAR’S KAMPAMBA OFFER ACCEPTED
KickOff.com can reveal that Platinum Stars have broken the bank to land the signature of highly-rated Zambian Reynold Kampamba.
The Chipolopolo striker was also on the wanted list of SuperSport United and two teams from both Israel and France, but Dikwena have done enough to convince Kampamba to relocate to South Africa next year January.
According to a source close to the deal, the 22-year-old’s team Nkana FC have accepted Stars’ offer.
“The only thing left now is the player and the club to agree on personal terms. The deal is as good as done and the player is expected to arrive in South Africa this weekend,” KickOff.com’s source reveals.
“Platinum Stars had to dig deep to match the offers from teams in Israel and France.”
The 22-year-old has scored 19 goals in all competitions for Nkana this year and was the 2013 FAZ Super Division Golden Boot winner with 18 goals last year.
if it is true that kampamba has is going to south Africa then it is bad news for Zambian football, we should have players playing in Europe and not south Africa. surely a player of his caliber playing in south,a player of such great talent.
For those with the knowledge, what did FAZ do in regards to the under 20 team? What is this disowned issue I keep reading about? Thanks
When the team arrived in Zim for the tournament, FAZ was upset to notice that its preferred list of players wasnt the one that went to Zim, the technical team also said they included other boys as experimental (which you can see for yourself the excellent results). FAZ then went ahead and announced that its got nothing to do with that team and that it wont officially recognize it. However, the team official I think gave FAZ the proverbial middle finger and went ahead. FAZ as Iam typing is still licking its wounds.
Wow, thanks for the infor biden, this is all Kalu’s pathetic leadership, but I won’t get into that.
Well done boys.
KEEP IT UP BOYS
Thats why in some quarters the fans feel FAZ needs to apologize publicly just as it disowned the team publicly. We cant be running a national football association based on nepotism and preferences. An association doesnt spend time with the boys, they sit in well air-conditioned offices but want to dictate who goes on the pit by remote control. I personally wished the boys could perform well to shame FAZ… and its like they also wanted to do that – now I feel they are OVER performing! ki ki ki.
