COSAFA U20: Eswatini, Zambia to battle for top slot

Zambia Under-20 coach Chisi Mbewe with his technical bench are aware that anything other than a top two finish will be considered as a failure in Eswatini.

With Zimbabwe not participating following the FIFA ban and South Africa’s dismissal start in Group C, the Junior Chipolopolo’s dream of qualifying to the AFCON U20 Egypt 2023 is a realistic target.

Zambia’s stumbling block at the tournament could come from either Angola or Mozambique in the knockout phase.

Before Chisi can worry about the knock knockout stages, he needs to ensure that his starlets win Group A.

On Sunday, the boys from Lusaka will be taking on host nation, Eswatini.

Winger Rickson Ng’ambi is expected to replace Chipyoka Songa in the starting line up.

Ng’ambi will join Joseph Sabobo Banda and Derrick Bulaya in attack.

Both Zambia and Eswatini are on 3 points eac, having won their respective opening Group A matches.

Zambia will play Botswana on Tuesday in the final group game.

Zambia U20 Probable XI v Eswatini : Jeban Tembo – Amon Chulu, Lombe Mutale, Happy Nsiku, Gift Mphande – Dominic Kanda (c), Julius Kumwenda, Charles Majapa Mumba – Joseph Sabobo Banda, Derrick Bulaya, Rickson Ng’ambi
