Cosafa Squad set to go in camp on Sunday

Zambia’s Cosafa Cup squad is set to go into camp on Sunday.

The team will be mainly made up of players from the Zambian Super League.

The involvement of Red Arrows players like Benedict Chepeshi, Ricky Banda, Saddam Yusuf Phiri and goalkeeper Charles Kalumba is in doubt as the Zambian Champions are heading to East Africa for the CECAFA Challenge Cup.

European based players will be excused as they will be returning to their bases for pre-season.

Record seven-time winners Zambia will be looking to become the first team to win three COSAFA Cup titles in a row and also face a fascinating set of fixtures in Group B, which puts them against old foes Zimbabwe and Comoros.

The fourth team in that pool will be confirmed in due course.

Last year Moses Sichone was in charge of the team while Avram Grant was busy offering technical support to the Copper Queens ahead of the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
