Copper Queens settle in Rabat ahead of WAFCON opener

The Copper Queens have arrived in Rabat at their official base for the TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), following the conclusion of an international pre-camp in Casablanca.

Coach Nora Häuptle’s side will now enter the final stretch of preparations ahead of their Group A opener against hosts Morocco on Saturday, 5 July at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat. 

The match will mark the official opening of the 15th edition of Africa’s flagship women’s football tournament. The team spent 10 days in Casablanca conducting multiple training sessions at the Lanoria Sports Complex in Mohammedia. 

Following the opening fixture, the Copper Queens will play their second and third Group A matches against Senegal on 9 July and DR Congo three days later at El Bachir Stadium in Mohammedia.
