The Zambia Women’s National Team will take part in this year’s CFA Yongchuan Four-Nation Women’s Football Invitational Tournament in China.
The ZamFoot Crew understands that the Copper Queens are among the three teams invited by China for the tournament alongside the Philippines and Thailand.
Philippines and Thailand are currently ranked 41st, 45th in the world, and they are ranked 7th, 9th in Asia. The hosts are ranked 17th in the World and 4th in Asia.
The Copper Queens are expected to have a busy next few months as they prepare for the TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) Morocco 2024.
The team is currently in camp preparing for two international friendly matches against the Scorchers of Malawi.
They are also expected to host a six Nations Invitational tournament in May before having a final camp for the tournament.
The TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2024 is scheduled to be played between 5 to 26 July 2025 and will feature 12 of Africa’s top national
teams competing for continental glory.
Coach Nora Elizabeth Häuptle’s side who are regarded by many as Africa’s most improved Women’s National Team are in Group A alongside hosts Morocco, Senegal and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
