Copper Queens jet into Turkey ahead of kick off of Turkish Women’s Cup

The Copper Queens have arrived in Alanya, Turkey ahead of the kick off of the Turkish Women’s Cup. 

Bruce Mwape’s lasses are lodged at the Miracle Resort. 

The 12 local based players and Hellen Mubanga have been joined by Turkey based Hazel Nali and Prisca Chilufya. 

Meanwhile Kazakhstan Champions BIIK Kazygurt Shymkent trio of Martha Tembo, Hellen Chanda and Ireen ‘Xavi’ Lungu, the female Computer were the first to arrive as they are in Alanya for pre-season. 

Zambia are set to face Slovenia on 18th February and Uzbekistan on 21st February.

More foreign-based players are expected to complete the roster on Monday with China based Barbra Banda expected to be the last to arrive. 

The Turkish Women’s Cup is one of the preparatory tournaments for the Copper Queens ahead of their maiden appearance at the FIFA Women’s World Cup that will be co- hosted by New Zealand and Australia in July.
