Striker Alex ‘Bazo’ Ng’onga scored a goal to help TP Mazembe to a 3-1 win over Real Bamako in a CAF Confederation Cup Group D stage tie in Lubumbashi.
Having impressed in friendly matches with a return of 7 goals in 5 matches, the stage was set for the burly striker to shine.
Ng’onga scored in the 38th minute with a fine finish to put Mazembe in the lead after Souleymane Coulibaly had leveled matters following Jephte Bola Kitambala opener.
Second half substitute Patient Mwamba added a third in the dying minutes.
2012 AFCON winner Rainford Kalaba was a late second half substitute while Tandi Mwape was an unused substitute.
