The Zambia Women’s National Team held their first training session at Clapham High School in Queenswood, Pretoria, to prepare for the upcoming FIFA International Friendly match against Botswana on Saturday.
The Copper Queens had their maiden session under the watchful eye of coach Nora Häuptle. Saturday’s fixture against the Mares will kick-off at 15h00 at Lucas “Masterpieces” Moripe stadium, with streams available on SABC Sport.
The team, which arrived in South Africa on Tuesday, is using the international window to fine-tune preparations for the TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) to be held in Morocco from 5–26 July 2025.
The Copper Queens’ engagement against Botswana forms part of a three-nation friendly series that also involves hosts and reigning African champions South Africa.
The series kicked off on Wednesday, with Banyana Banyana edging Botswana 3-2 in the opening fixture.
Zambia will face Botswana in Saturday’s match before wrapping up the series against South Africa on Tuesday, 3 June 2025.
