COPPER QUEENS BOSS SPOILT FOR CHOICE IN MIDFIELD… MWAKAPILA EXPECTED TO START

Zambia Women’s national team head coach Bruce Mwape will have a tough time selecting his midfield combination for this afternoon’s Olympic qualifier against Cameroon as he is spoilt for choice.

Indeni Roses industrious midfielder Rhoda Chileshe is likely to start in the holding midfield role with Mary ‘RTSA’ Mwakapila in the attacking role.

Mwape can, however, throw in Green Buffaloes hard-tackling midfielder Judith Zulu to help Chileshe in protecting the back four should he wish to go in the defensive route.

Fit-again Ireen ‘Xavi’ Lungu is also a big contender for a starting berth and could partner her club mate Mwakapila in an attack-minded midfield line up.

Red Arrows Theresa Chewe is another option that the coach can look to and whatever combination he chooses to go with he is assured of a very strong midfield.

Zambia and Cameroon will face off this afternoon at 15:30 (16:30 Zambian time ) at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Omnisports Stadium. The return leg will be played at Nkoloma Stadium on Tuesday, 10th March.

The winner over two legs will qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics while the losing team will face South American side Chile in a playoff.
