The Zambia Women’s National Team, the Copper Queens, have arrived in Kampala ahead of Thursday’s first-leg Olympic qualifier against Uganda.
The team landed at Entebbe International Airport at 02h44 on Monday aboard a RwandAir flight after travelling from Lusaka on Sunday afternoon and connecting through Kigali, Rwanda.
Interim head coach Charles Haalubono travelled with 17 locally based players, while the eight foreign-based players called up for the assignment are expected to join the squad in Uganda.
The arrivals will complete Zambia’s 25-member squad for the crucial Olympic qualifying tie against the Crested Cranes.
The Copper Queens are expected to begin preparations in Kampala as they turn their attention to Thursday’s first leg, with the team looking to secure a positive result away from home before the return fixture in Zambia.
