The Zambia Women’s national team and the U-17 Women’s national team have both arrived in Port Elizabeth, South Africa ahead of the COSAFA Women’s Championships.
The Copper Queens left for Port Elizabeth at noon while the Copper Princesses left at 16:00 aboard an Ethiopian Airline flight.
The Copper Queens are in Group B alongside Lesotho and Malawi and they will begin their title race with Lesotho on 4th November 2020 before locking horns with neighbors Malawi 5 days later in what could be a group decider.
This year’s championship has 10 teams pitted in 3 groups, with leaders in each group going through to the semi-finals and one best-placed team joining them to complete the list.
The U-17 on the other hand competes in a round-robin affair and will open its account on November 4, 2020, with a titanic clash against hosts South Africa before facing Tanzania 48 hours later. Kangwa’s lasses will then play Comoros on November 10 before concluding their outing with a game against Zimbabwe two days later.
