Copper Princesses to Face Madagascar in COSAFA Semis after humiliating Mauritius 10-0

The Zambia U17 Women’s National Team thrashed Mauritius 10-0 to set up a semifinal meeting with Madagascar. 

Red Arrows winger Masela Sekeseke scored a double brace while Mercy Chipasula and Natasha Nkaka chipped in with a brace each. 

Grace Phiri scored a goal with Princess Samiette netting an own goal to seal what was an emphatic win.

Zambia will now  take on Madagascar in the COSAFA U17 Girls Championship 2024 semi-finals on Wednesday at 11h00.

The Copper Princesses advanced to the last four after an impressive performance in Group C, where they secured nine points with commanding victories over Botswana (3-0), Zimbabwe (7-2) and Mauritius (10-0). 

Madagascar beat defending champions South Africa 1-0 to qualify for the semifinals as Group B winners.

In the other semi-final, Group A winners Mozambique will entertain Lesotho who end the group stage campaign as the best second-placed team from all groups.
