Copper Princesses Step Up Preparations for Japan Clash at FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup

The Zambia U17 women’s national team, the Copper Princesses, have continued their preparations for Sunday’s FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup Group D encounter against Japan in Morocco.

Coach Carol Kanyemba and her technical bench put the squad through another training session at Pitch 9 of the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Rabat as Zambia fine-tune their preparations for the crucial fixture.

The Copper Princesses are among 24 teams competing at the tournament, which brings together some of the world’s most promising young female footballers.

Zambia have been drawn in Group D alongside France, Japan and Venezuela, with the top two teams in each group guaranteed qualification for the round of 16.

The six-group tournament will also see the four best third-placed teams advance to the knockout stage, leaving the Copper Princesses with an opportunity to progress beyond the group phase.

Kanyemba’s side will be looking to make a strong impression on the global stage, starting with their opening assignment against Japan on Sunday.
